We at the Tasmanian Distillery thank the olden day English
justice system for sending so many Celtic whisky
loving folk to our remote and isolated
piece of paradise now known as Tasmania.
In our splendid isolation we were able to use the best
of Irish and Scottish whisky-making knowledge and
add in Australian ingenuity and a passion to out do
the rest of the world.
In fact our chief distiller,
Patrick Maguire is a fourth generation son of
Tasmania whose
forefathers came to the colony as convicts.
Patrick expresses his passion and love of whisky
through his distilling craftsmanship skills.
He is driven by a quiet belief that he produces
a world class whisky sought by connoisseurs
around the world.
Under his guidance and skill the Tasmania
Distillery is a boutique producer of hand
crafted small quantites of the purest single malt
whisky in the 1860’s design Alembic Charentais
Copper Pot, still following the tradional methods
first devised centuries ago.
